Loving the Process
Loving this new art process. These postcards bring me out of the comforting embrace of my typical precision-oriented portraits; staying in the lines has always felt safe, and it is impossible to do that with the intricacies of Morris’s designs on these postcards. Loosening control has never felt so free on this Flower full moon🌷🌝 Send me a message here or through my website to order your own original painting through donation 🌟
The Sun Tarot, Art Historical Renditions
I win by surrendering. I win by pausing. I win by nourishing myself and watering my roots. I win by tending to my passions. I win by sending out good and letting good return to me in a new flavor. I win by enjoying variety and change. I win by sitting still and I win by movement, so long as both are done with intention. I win by loving dynamically and also by loving in stillness. I win by loving at all.

Five Postcards Left
I have thirteen postcards in preparation to be sent, and only five left that are available to order! This has been a wonderful experience so far and I am so grateful to be privileged enough to spend this time at home painting and contributing something meaningful during this time, even if small. Every little donation makes a big difference 🌞 Send me a message through my website or here on Instagram!
Earth Day Post Cards - Donate
On Earth day and the New Moon in Earthly, materially-oriented Taurus, this is a good time to talk about my current little project. I am painting on these postcards made of watercolor paper with designs by activist William Morris. In creating his 19th-century printing press which reproduced literary classics in book forms reminiscent of medieval manuscripts, Morris stood in vehement opposition to the trend of mass production in England which was facilitated by machinery and assembly lines. He utilized a hand-press, ideal for producing editions with limited numbers of copies, and carefully sourced natural materials in an attempt to connect the book-maker with nature and to elevate the book as an art object as it were in the Middle Ages. Idealizing the Middle Ages for its division of labor and focus on the quality of materials used, Morris believed that reviving the methods by which books were made would remedy the polluted industrialized society in which he lived.
I think it is safe to say most of us are pondering the cleaner air circulating the Earth during this global pandemic, while also finding ourselves immersed in technology in order to stay connected. Earth day encourages us to connect with nature, and I imagine other artists like myself are attempting to connect to our materials and disconnect from the incessant scrolling and digitization of recycled images. I felt this would be an appropriate time to send these hand-painted post cards to friends, loved ones, and whoever else wants one to join the Earth in its “breather” from industrialization. It may take a few weeks to arrive, but it will be individually designed for you. I am not charging a dime; however, if you wish to donate, I will forward it directly onto the Wild Pigment Project, which “promotes ecological balance and regenerative economies through a passion for wild pigments, their place of origin, and their cultural histories,” somewhat reminiscent of Morris in connecting the artist with materials, but with a much more sustainable approach, I think. Send me a message in the “Contact” section and I’ll reply with Venmo address. Thanks for your help!

Welcome to Part of Fortune
No, “Part of Fortune” does not refer to money.
The name of this platform is a reference to a more abstract concept: A point in the sky drawing an angle to the location and time of one’s birth. If the psychological implications of planetary alignment, i.e. astrology, are of no interest to you, read no further, and enjoy the portfolios of myself and fellow artists in the tabs above.
The Part of Fortune in a natal chart highlights an area of one’s life in which that person may succeed remarkably, uniquely, and daringly. It is symbolized by the circle with a cross or “X” inside, represented on the Home Page of this website. Below it is represented in my chart sitting alongside the moon:
The moon represents emotions. These two symbols residing in tandem indicate a daring ability to emotionally express. I just so happen to have expressed myself through painting since birth. Such is the case for many other artists with prominent Part of Fortune placements; thus, this platform was birthed to showcase the more mystical breed of artists who emotionally express through their work, with a bold disregard for disapproval from the materially grounded skeptics of our fascination with the sacred, other-worldly, and spiritual. Enjoy!
